Those who have put in place defense mechanism’s have lived in darkness in some ways. For to close your heart, mind, and soul not only defends against hurt but also closes doors to love.

He who is on high did not create “zombies.” He who loves you greatly created a being for love; His love, and the love of others. Those who have tread deep waters of pain do just that. For to tread water is to stand still, head barely above the surface, while the body is buried.

The body is also He who is the Almighty one’s, for you represent He who shed His blood. The Almighty did not create a body, mind, and soul to have it stand in mud or water.

He who is on high wishes your defenses to be cut loose. He who loves you wishes walls to topple and His Spirit within to…

About Sue Cass

I am a follower of Jesus Christ and an abuse survivor. I am the founder & C.E.O. of Elah Ministries, Inc. A non-profit 501c3 ministry that offers hope, healing, and deliverance to hurting souls. I have seen the Grace of God work mightily in both individual lives (mine included) and through the support groups I have led. Elah Ministries, Inc. is supported strictly by donations and the proceeds from the sale of my books. My prayer is that all hurting souls may find God's freedom through His Grace, mercy, and healing. I have also penned six published books, both fiction and non-fiction, hoping to enlighten, uplift, and entertain in a way that honors my Heavenly Father and draws my readers closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you with His peace, hope, love, and joy as you follow Jesus Christ.

  1. If love, so called. Takes more than gives, hurts more than heals, then its better to be shut off than to be used and abused.
If you’ve had more of the negative than the positive….you wont open up to any..

    • Hi Nessa 3: Many horrible things happen in the name of “love.” Obviously those horrible things are not love. I hear the pain behind your words and as humans we are all vulnerable to being hurt, be it by words or actions from others, be it intentionally or otherwise. But to shut ourselves off from all, isn’t that similar to saying, “I was bitten by a dog so ALL dogs will bite me?” I’m so sorry you have been hurt but there is One that we truly can trust and open up to. He, the Lord, will not betray us. Thank you for your input and I pray the Lord will heal your heart.
