Prayer

Sue's Pen2PaperBlog

 Once a man was asked,

“What did you gain by regularly praying to God?”

The man replied,

“Nothing…but let me tell you what I lost;

Anger, ego, greed, depression, insecurity, and fear of death.”

Sometimes, the answer to our prayers is not gaining but losing;

which ultimately is the gain.

Jesus vs. Santa

Jesus vs. Santa

For most of us the Christmas season officially starts today. With that in mind, I thought I’d share something from the email bag.

Remember the reason for the season everyone 🙂

JESUS vs SANTA

Santa lives at the North Pole…
JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh…
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year…
JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies…
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited…
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa…
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap…
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn’t know your name, all he can say is “Hi little boy or girl, what’s your name?”…
JESUS knew our name before we were born. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly…
JESUS has a heart full of love

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO…
JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says “You better not cry”…
JESUS says “Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.”

Santa’s little helpers make toys…
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but…
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree…
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree…the cross.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Faking Normal

“We have every right to expect appropriate behavior around us.”

ANNA WALDHERR A Voice Reclaimed, Surviving Child Abuse

A plank in the 2012 platform of the Republican Party called for illegal immigrants to leave the United States of their own accord. Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate that year, took quite a bit of flack for supporting the approach (grandly titled “self-deportation”) [1].

But this is not really a post about illegal immigrants.

What abuse victims have in common with illegal immigrants is that we both self-monitor. We are, in other words, inclined to observe ourselves closely in the effort to project an acceptable image, an image of “normalcy” and control, whatever the turmoil within.

“Travel Caution,” Author Jasonctillman (CC BY-SA-3.0 Unported)

By itself, self-monitoring is not a bad trait. Even people who have never been abused worry, from time to time, whether their feelings and responses are normal. We are taught from childhood to play nicely with others, and not run with scissors. Those unwilling to adjust…

Rejoice in Him – Pen Tips

Given by the Holy Spirit – March 1998

Rejoice in Him

As the painfilled memories flow

for they are memories

not actual acts of today.

*

Rejoice in Him

When the pain swells

to tidal waves within

it is pain that is being

brought to land,

sand filters, cleans.

*

  Rejoice in Him

for your soul is being

cleansed. And as with

any  new cleansing

it is put back in place,

new.

*

Rejoice in Him

for He Who loves you

removes the old within

a damaged soul.

Rejoice, for He fills those

area’s that have been left

vacant of those hurtful things.

*

Rejoice in Him

for He is filling, giving of Himself

to bring you to a place

where you can

rejoice in Him.

“Poisonous Pets” or GOD: Who Do You Want To Hold Onto

Posted on

We were created to have an abundant life, not abuse.

The Abuse Expose' with Secret Angel

I had this thought this weekend and I just want to share…

Living with a sociopath or narcissist is like getting a daily dose of venom from a “poisonous pet”. We love our “pet” but it’s venom slowly destroys us. In fact, we don’t even realize that we are getting “bit” or “poisoned” because the pain becomes part of us and acceptable… especially if we have grown up with such poisonous people.
